Aim of the course
- To increase participants’ ability to deliver positive, early interventions focused on safeguarding of Roma children and vulnerable adults in a culturally competent way.
By the end of the training participants will have:
Explored Roma communities’/individuals’ disadvantages and strengths, including: coping mechanisms; barriers to engagement and making changes; and parenting skills.
- Considered Roma families’ understanding of UK norms and expectations related to safeguarding and parenting.
Gained an understanding regarding how best to support Roma individuals and communities and strategies for overcoming the challenges.
Considered how to set up effective/ successful interventions and activities.
