Zero Tolerance for FGM (Jan 16)
International Day for Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation. 6 February 2016
To further support the local partnership work in tackling Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), The City and Hackney Health & Well-being Boards have recently approved a new FGM strategy “Tackling and Preventing FGM – City and Hackney Strategy 2016-2019”.
The strategy is due to be launched on Zero Tolerance day and outlines how a multi-agency approach is needed to:
- help prevent FGM from happening;
- improve the response of professionals to girls and women who have undergone or are at risk of FGM; and:
- make specialist information, advice and support available.
Download the strategy here.
Further information on FGM is available for professionals here.
