The key tasks of the CHSCP:
Providing independent leadership, scrutiny, advice and consultation on safeguarding practices within Hackney and the City of London.
To bring together senior leaders responsible for safeguarding children, to ensure we have joined up ways of working in the best interests of children and families.
To keep up to date with changes to national policies, guidance and legislation in order to advise partner agencies of how these changes impact them.
To provide a measure for organisations of how well they can meet their safeguarding responsibilities through the Self Assessment and staff survey process, which is open to all organisations working with children.
To provide training across partner agencies, voluntary and community organisations
Facilitate meetings to review when serious incidents occur involving harm to children, and enable learning and change to occur, these are called Rapid Reviews and Local Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of child safeguarding services through auditing and analysis.
